Central States Trucking (CST) to Acquire O.S.T. Trucking

Oak Brook, IL –June 26, 2019 – CST, a Forward Air company founded in 1980 and currently one of the largest intermodal drayage companies in the United States, has entered into an agreement to acquire O.S.T. Trucking, Inc. and O.S.T. Logistics Inc., (collectively referred to as “O.S.T.” in this release). O.S.T. has provided industry-leading intermodal drayage services for more than 25 years.

It is anticipated that the transaction will close in July, 2019. O.S.T. will be the ninth acquisition CST has completed since it was acquired by Forward Air Corp. (FWRD).

O.S.T. is headquartered in Baltimore, Md., with locations in Norfolk, Va., Savannah, Ga., Jacksonville, Fl., and Charleston, S.C. O.S.T. staff will transition to CST, where they will continue to provide outstanding service to their customer base.

Central States Trucking (CST) Expands Market Leading Position with Purchase of Multi-Modal Transport Inc. (MMT).

Oak Brook, IL – July 25, 2018 - CST, founded in 1980, and currently one of the largest intermodal drayage companies in the United States (22 National Offices, with over 1,500 total Employees and Drivers), has acquired Multi-Modal Transport Inc. (MMT).  MMT represents the seventh acquisition that has been completed by CST since it was acquired by Forward Air Corp. (FWRD). 

All of the management, office staff, and drivers of Multi-Modal Transport will transition to CST and will continue to provide the same high level of service as their customer base have enjoyed for many years.  CST expects the existing growth in the Minneapolis market to continue and plans to further add both driver and operating resources to satisfy our customer’s strong demand in this market.

Central States Trucking (CST) Expands Market Leading Position with Purchase of Southwest Freight Distributors, Inc.

Oak Brook, IL – October 18, 2018 - CST, founded in 1980, and currently one of the largest intermodal drayage companies in the United States (22 National Offices, with over 1,500 total Employees and Drivers), has entered into an agreement to acquire Southwest Freight Distributors, Inc. (Southwest). The transaction is expected to close on or about October 28, 2018. Once closed, Southwest will be the eighth acquisition CST has completed since it was acquired by Forward Air Corp. (FWRD).

Southwest is a premier provider of intermodal drayage services to the Dallas freight market. It has over 100 drivers in its fleet. All Southwest management, office staff, and drivers will transition to CST and will continue to provide the same high level of service as their customer base has enjoyed for many years. CST expects the existing growth in the Dallas market to continue and plans to add both driver and operating resources to satisfy our customers’ strong demand in this market.

Oak Brook, IL – October 23, 2017 - CST, founded in 1980, and currently one of the largest intermodal drayage companies in the United States (22 National Offices, with over 1,500 total Employees and Drivers), has acquired Kansas City Logistics (KCL).  KCL is the sixth acquisition that has been completed by CST since it was acquired by Forward Air Corp. (FWRD). 

All of the management, office staff, and drivers of Kansas City Logistics will transition to CST and will continue to provide the same high level of service as their customer base have enjoyed for many years. CST expects to further increase its existing driver base in this location in the coming months due to new business brought on by this transaction.

The KCL opportunity provides CST with an expanded footprint in the Kansas and Missouri markets, along with access to several strategic customer relationships. “KCL has a tremendous service reputation in the drayage market and aligns perfectly with CST’s growth vision,” said Ron Vales, SVP of CST.  “We are excited to welcome Craig Swope and his entire team to the CST family.”
