Oak Brook, IL – April 10, 2017 - Central States Trucking (CST), founded in 1980, and currently one of the largest intermodal drayage companies in the United States (20 National Offices, with over 1,500 total Employees and Drivers), has acquired Atlantic Trucking Company.  The combined entity will be one of the few intermodal service providers offering over 1,000 drivers, which further adds to its market leading position servicing the top International and Domestic Intermodal Supply Chains in the U.S.

All of the management, office staff, and drivers of Atlantic Trucking Company will transition to CST and will continue to provide the same high level of service as they have done for over 30-years.  CST expects to further increase its existing driver base to over 1,200 drivers by year end due to expected growth in the Southeast, along with some potential selective add-on acquisitions.

The transaction provides CST with an immediate footprint and infrastructure to establish itself as the clear leader in the Southeast and Atlantic Regions.  “The impending partnership with Atlantic Trucking Company offers 9 new terminal locations mostly in the Southeast,” said Ron Vales, SVP of CST.  “We are grateful to have the continued outstanding leadership commitment of Kevin, Greg and Julie O’Donnel.  The combined passion to provide best-in-class service and solutions to our customers will certainly help us to continue our strong growth trajectory.”

Kevin O’Donnel, President of Atlantic Trucking Company, added, “This is an exciting opportunity for our team to become a part of one of the fastest growing and financially secure companies in our industry. CST has an impeccable reputation and we are very much looking forward to contributing to their continued success.”

I would like to personally welcome all of our new staff members, drivers and customers into the CST family and certainly look forward to working closely with everybody in the years to come.
